đ School Meal Benefits Information
Shelbyville Central Schoolsâ meal program is funded by the USDA. Some students may be automatically approved for free meals through Direct Certification if they receive SNAP, TANF, qualifying Medicaid, or are identified as homeless, migrant, foster, or a ward of the state. Families who qualify will be notified and do not need to apply.
Families are encouraged to complete a free/reduced meal application before the school year begins to avoid meal charges. Students not approved before the first day of school will be placed on paid status, and any charges before approval are the householdâs responsibility.
